THE Digital Miniature

SALUTE is the largest wargaming convention in Europe and we want to make sure we use that platform to elevate and support the industry.
Our Physical miniature process involves us approaching sculptors and manufacturers each year and asking if they would do the honours. We then commission their services, but -there are always upcoming sculptors and new companies that we also want to hear from. That's where the digital miniature comes in.
We ask for submissions (3D renders, concept art, etc) of totally original miniatures (i.e. they are not available anywhere else, they've never been seen before). Our team then review these submissions in line with our theme and pick the one we like the best. We will then present that design to our audience as the "Digital SALUTE Miniature".
We look to confirm our official miniature for the upcoming show by the end of October and get it printed and painted from November.
With the increase of 3D printing, the idea is that in future years more individuals/businesses will submit ideas for the digital miniature.

“I took the plunge and decided to exhibit at SALUTE 2025 to demo my games and show off my models in person. Each year SALUTE give the opportunity for digital artists to produce an event exclusive STL that will be available to those that attend. So I threw my hat in the ring just to see and they picked my design!
The theme being ‘Highlander’ I decided to keep it on brand with my usual work by sculpting a ‘Mech Jock’. This has been my first venture into the world of human/organics sculpting digitally. I’m really pleased with the result however and I am most excited to see how other people paint it up!
The team that run SALUTE have been so helpful and supportive and I’d like to make a special thanks to the PR Team who has been the absolute best throughout this process.”

"Working on a figure to fit with both the SALUTE 'Cavalry' theme and the Cold War Gone Hot Berlin participation game we were planning to run was a great challenge and really good fun. It led me down a research rabbit hole looking into the history of the 40th Cavalry Regiment - the only US Army tankers in the German capital - that ultimately led to the "By Force & Valor" digital miniatures inspired by the unit's motto.
The SALUTE team are great to work with and the exposure and coverage the miniatures received really helped me to introduce new wargamers to my Cold War ranges and the BattlegroundHD rules. An absolute highlight was seeing the diorama featuring the figures next to a knocked out M60 created and painted by Wargames Illustrated's Matt Parkes."
